    "Susan Beausang is the 2008 recipient of this prestigious award.  This award honors an alumnus of Marymount University who has demonstrated a long time and successful commitment to her career, and because of the outstanding level of commitment, has made a positive and dramatic impact through enthusiastic dedication.

   

Susan has been committed to a number of causes over the years, including two different career paths, numerous volunteer efforts, and being a mother.  Now, as a woman living with alopecia and coming from a family of breast cancer survivors, Susan has dedicated herself to helping other women and girls manage their hair loss in a stylish and dignified manner. She developed the BeauBeau, a fashionable and comfortable alternative to wearing a wig for women like her who want to maintain their sense of style while wearing a comfortable and versatile alternative to a wig.  Susan regularly speaks to and counsels women facing cancer, chemotherapy, alopecia, and other diseases causing hair loss."
